Some chefs are made and then you have the ones like Chef Q who are born. Like so many, it all began in his Mama's kitchen, out of survival, having to compete with nine other siblings for food. He quickly learned the basics that would soon set the foundation for who he is today.

With a career extending over 25 years and ranging from cooking in the U.S. Navy; owning his own restaurant; working in both private and corporate restaurant establishments; or cooking at various locations around the world as well as Universal and Paramount Studios. His celebrity clientele entails, The Former President of The United States Mr. Bill Clinton, Grammy award winning artists CeCe, BeBe and Marvin Winans of the legendary award winning Winans Family, Diane Valentine-
Designer/Wedding Designer, Comedian Stevie Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer, D.L. Hughley, Multi Grammy award winning artist Donnie McClurkin, The Moesha Show, The Jamie Foxx Show and Hollywood Exes TV Show and many more. Chef Q's experiences are vast, broad and knowledgeable in the culinary industry.

Chef Q was privileged to be a part of the phenomenal Echo & Rig Steakhouse launching team, and served as their Exec. Chef.  In October, 2019, opportunity knocked at Chef’s door to launch his own restaurant in Roseville, CA.  And of course, he answered the door with open arms to finally design an eating place that is reflective of his southern roots while embracing his love of California’s fresh ingredients.

 

Q1227 Restaurant, is affectionately named after Chef’s birthday, which is December 27.  Q1227, is a chef driven restaurant in the beautiful city of Roseville, CA. Our menu inspiration pulls from Chef’s love of the ‘farm to fork’ industry combined with the comfort food of his childhood, hence is why we call our cuisine, “modern comfort".
